Webp Plugin For Photoshop Cc
Webp Plugin For Photoshop Cc
Daniel, thanks for posting! Unfortunately neither of those seem to work with Photoshop CC 2019 (Creative Cloud). The documentation for the Telegraphics plugin mentions releases through CS6 but not beyond. I tried it anyway but could neither import nor export webp. I've emailed them for clarification but am not hopeful. The sad thing is, the plugin works for Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder, and Photoshop uses Media Encoder to load and render the video. I use Photoshop to apply a smart filter using Adobe Camera Raw, so I can adjust the image far better than the Lumetri Scopes. Camera Raw has more options and I can save the settings to an XMP file. Previous editions of Photoshop install plugins from a similar folder location. The file to copy and paste into this folder is “WebPFormat64.8bi” for the first plugin above or “WebP.8bi” for the second plugin, on a Photoshop 64-bit installation. Make sure Photoshop is closed before you copy the plugin file. Update: The plug-in I posted indeed works for CC2019 on a Mac. Just close Photoshop, download the CS5/6 version from the site, save it in the plug-ins folder (Applications Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Plug-ins Save WebPFormat.plugin here). Then you'll need to set the default application for.webp files to Photoshop. Copy the plug-in file WebPShop.8bi located in the zip file, binWebPShop030Winx64 to the Photoshop installation folder, usually C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe PhotoshopPlug-ins for x64. Restart Photoshop. 'Open' and 'Save' menu commands should now show WebP files.

In this tutorial we are looking how to open WebP files with Windows Photo Viewer and Photoshop. WebP initial release was 2010 but now you can see it to be used more often. WebP is developed by Google, and Google says that it is 26% smaller in size compared to PNG:s, and lossy images are 25-34% smaller than JPEG images, and it supports transparency just like PNG. WebP files doesn't affect your life at all until you save image from web to your computer and see that it is .webp file. Because WebP isn't supported by all browsers yet, websites has to have JPEG/PNG fallback and offer those images to user, if it sees that your browser doesn't support WebP.
Installing WebP codec for Windows Photo Viewer
1. Download WebP codec for windows from this link https://storage.googleapis.com/downloads.webmproject.org/releases/webp/WebpCodecSetup.exe . After downloading, start setup. Setup is really straight forward. Just hit next next next.
2. By default WebP files are assigned to Chrome. So you want to right click .webp file and go to Open With -> Windows Photo viewer
3. If you want to always open .webp files with Windows Photo Viewer. From right click go to Open With -> Choose another app. Select Windows Photo Viewer and check Always use this app to open .webp files.
